GROUP_PRESENTATION
This presentation was done by our group ‘Tastemaker’, and the part I done is question 8(page 8-9). Which it explain about effect of colour uses, and feeling can customer would get.
GROUP_MODEL_MAKING
Based on the image we choose as a group, we are asked to make models to fill the grid.
GROUP_CHOSEN_MODELS
This are the two model we think it was the best.
ARTIST_MODEL
Researches
Do Ho Suh
Sculpture, Installation art
Do Ho Suh is a Korean sculptor and installation artist. His works often explore the concept of space and home. Suh was born in Seoul, South Korea in 1962.
Linda Bergroth
Industrial design, Interior Architecture
Linda Bergroth (born 1978) is a Helsinki- and Paris-based designer, whose projects range from industrial design and interior architecture to creating sets.
REFLECTION_ON_RESEARCH
From the research I will drawings and make models, and I will be reflecting the skills my artist used. For example, I really liked the material Do Ho Suh use which is transparent material, because I liked how it can see what is behind the scene. Then, the texture Linda Bergroth created, I enjoyed the pattern it is creating, and other point I liked was due to the fancy pattern I could look messy, but her texture felt modern.
DRAWING_01-13
I have used the textures and style based on the researches.
MODEL MAKING
Used 3D Pen to experiment with it.
SECTIONS AND PLAN VIEW OF ST JAMES
FIXED ST JAMES'S SECTION AND PLAN
I have cropped the Plan and sections into are that I am working on and I have changed few walls and staircase, and I fixed the floor to be flat. (It may not Scaled on Screen)

WALL PAPER DESIGN
Render View of Adding texture to wall
Here is some of the render view of my site, and I have changes and remove some of staircase and thinking of adding elevator to it. Also, one of big change is that I have added a bar area to it.

CURTAIN DESIGN
Putting curtain rather then putting paper wall
Here is my other idea of remaking the site, by putting curtains which are containing texture I made with see-through material used.

TILE MAKING
Experiment of making Tiles
We had a change to make our tiles and do experiment with it. So, I melt my idea into making tiles which were ‘can see the back side of it through the gap’. Some of tiles were successfully designed, and I learned that from the process of cooking the tiles, it reduces it size by around 10 percent each time. Therefore, the size of the tiles is all different to each other’s, may by on process of making tile I did not cut them up in same sizes.
However, it was great experiment for me, because I am still have no idea of the how I will design my last project.
MAKING TILE TEXTURE INTO DIGITAL TEXTURE
Form the experience I have got some interesting texture / patterns.
So, I will be record them into rhino digital file; form me to use them on further development on designing a final site design.
The thing I liked on tiles is that the gap between tile, which looks like tree branches. Therefore, I am thinking of how I can develop them further.
NEW INSPIRATION
Research
In 2005 I was asked by Droog Design in the Netherlands to do a Christmas dinner. My initial thought was that a Christmas dinner is full of clichés. How can you design something that’s already fully designed? But in thinking of Christmas as a time when people eat together, I decided to create a simple “intervention.” I used a table with a tablecloth, but instead of putting the cloth on the table, I made slits in it and suspended it in the air, so that the participants sat with their heads inside the space and their bodies outside.
REFECTION
What I liked about this project is as Marije Vogelzang used a table with a tablecloth, but instead of putting the cloth on the table, she made slits in it and suspended it in the air, so that the participants sat with their heads inside the space and their bodies outside. Due to this action, created a special space for the people on table to communicate to each other, which is she created space of “Public Private space. Also, I think that people could communicated to each other easily because people can’t see what are other people wearing; Some time we judge on people’s outlooks, since they were hiding their outlook, it makes them treated each other more person to person.
CHOOSING FINAL CONCEPT OF PROJECT
Due to myself finding difficulty on sticking to a concept to carry on with my project, I reach the point that I have to decide.
Accordingly, I straighten out the thing I liked and similarity of artist models I have researched and I have found two big similarity that I liked about. Which is similarity between Linda Bergroth and Marije Vogelzang which is they did the designing on space which people communicated and make connection to each other, and also, I liked how Marije Vogelzang and Do ho Suh created a space inside of space, which lead into creating “Public Private Space”. To sum up, the thing I liked on my artist models is that making a place that people communicate to each other and creating a private space inside of public space.
Therefore, I am thinking of making a public bar with maze. The wall of maze will be made out with light cloth/curtain that people can go thorough easily. Also, I am thinking of using transparent cloth to link it to my first idea from Do ho Suh, by using transparency cloth people can see-through the behind the curtain to avoiding people crushing to each other and allowed the to see the silhouette only.
GATHERING IDEAS / CONCEPT
This is image of plan view of the site. This image is explaining the feature will be putted, and wayfinding which can be explained as people’s movement on the site.
PROCESS MAKING CURTAIN FRAME
Form the texture I made will tiles I am thinking of making them as the frame of curtain hanger.
ADDING CURTAIN TO FRAME

RENDER VIEW_2
MAKING CURTAIN WITH TEXTURE
I have made a physical model to show how the curtain will look like, and it was successful.
I’ve used five colours used, which are light blue, blue, dark blue, silver, and gold.
1:100 MODEL
Due to, my transparency texture used; I found it hard to show people clearly about my idea through my digital renders and sections. So, I made a physical model of my site for people’s better understanding
PRESENTATION
For presentation I want it to be show my concept even before people read my concept. Therefore, I am putting curtains between my presentation pages to create the motion of “Public Private Space” and also, rather than presenting on presentation broad I choose to putting my presentation on centre pole/concrete column, because the centre of our studio is very public space that anyone can wake round. So, when people come to see my work it will create ‘public private space’ by the curtains between them.
